Custom LED Heat Sink Manufacturing & Thermal Solutions
High-power LED systems generate significant heat in concentrated areas. Without efficient thermal management, your lighting products risk lumen depreciation, color shifting, and premature driver failure. At HeatsinkMaker, we manufacture custom LED heat sinks designed to maintain optimal junction temperatures and extend the operating life of your lighting equipment.
We work directly with your engineering team to transform 2D/3D drawings into high-performance cooling components. Whether you are developing industrial high-bay lights, stadium floodlights, or horticultural LED modules, we provide the manufacturing data and production capacity to move your project from concept to market.
Manufacturing Processes for LED Thermal Management
Different LED applications require different geometries. We utilize several manufacturing technologies to ensure your heat sink meets both thermal requirements and weight constraints.
Cold Forged Pin-Fin Heat Sinks
For applications requiring omnidirectional airflow or high-density pin-fin structures, we utilize cold forging. This process allows us to create integrated fin-to-base structures using high-thermal-conductivity aluminum (AL1060/6063) or copper (C1100).
Benefit: You get a heat sink with no thermal resistance between the fins and the base, maximizing heat transfer efficiency in a compact footprint.
Aluminum Extruded Heat Sinks
For linear LED fixtures and wall washers, aluminum extrusion is the most cost-effective method for volume production. We provide secondary CNC machining to add mounting holes, wire paths, and precision-milled surfaces for the LED PCB.
Benefit: You reduce total part cost while maintaining the structural integrity required for long-length lighting installations.
Skived Fin Heat Sinks
When your LED array is extremely high-power and space is limited, skiving allows for thinner fins and higher fin density than extrusion.
Benefit: You achieve more surface area for heat dissipation without increasing the physical dimensions of the light fixture.
Engineering Support from Prototype to Mass Production
A common challenge in LED development is the gap between a theoretical thermal model and a manufacturable part. Our engineering team provides a Design for Manufacturing (DFM) review for every RFQ.
Why Rapid Prototyping Matters
We provide rapid CNC machining and prototyping services to help you validate your thermal designs quickly.
-
01
Faster Validation: By receiving a physical prototype in days rather than weeks, your team can perform real-world thermal testing, identify hotspots, and adjust the design before investing in expensive mass-production tooling.
-
02
Risk Mitigation: Our DFM review identifies potential production issues—such as unnecessary machining complexity or material waste—helping you lower the unit cost before volume manufacturing begins.
